Gary Groves is a lifelong Republican, proud Texan, and steadfast conservative leader who has dedicated his life to faith, family, and country. He and his wife, Deborah, have lived in McAllen at the same address for over 42 years, building deep roots in the Rio Grande Valley community they love and serve. Together, they’ve stood firm in their belief in God, the Constitution, and the greatness of America.

For decades, Gary has been an active and passionate voice within the Republican Party, both locally and nationally. He served on the RNC Chairman’s Advisory Board and as a precinct chair in the Hidalgo County Republican Party, where he helped turn his precinct from blue to red. His leadership and grassroots involvement helped energize local conservatives and strengthen Republican momentum throughout the Valley.
Gary also played a key leadership role in the Trump Trains movement, which united thousands of patriotic Americans and helped President Trump win the 2024 election in Hidalgo County and across the RGV. His dedication to America First values has earned him recognition for championing strong borders, legal and sensible immigration, and unwavering support for our Constitution, law enforcement, and the military. He has spoken out about these Republican values in international, national, and local media.

Gary’s decision to run for the Texas State House of Representatives, District 41, is rooted in one purpose: to serve the people, not the system. He believes public office is not a career but a calling to serve with humility, integrity, and courage. Gary strongly supports term limits, believing no one should hold power indefinitely.
“Government should always be for the people, by the people,” Gary says. “If term limits are not passed, after four terms I will voluntarily step down so others can serve.”
